Hotspots
The ice on Greenland is melting, as the earths temperature rises slowly. This may enable the profitable extraction of rare earth metals that are needed for electronic technology, a high margin industry in the western, and now, eastern consumer markets. But the most critical thing that rare earth metals do is enable the creation of electric motors. Electric motors that are powerful enough to drive hybrid vehicles. China may be usurped as the monopolist in this area due to Greenland's coming independence and emergence as a resource rich plateau.
So, If you start seeing the following events occur, the below may give you an insight into the primary motivations for it. You will have to ask yourself: is the supply of raw materials heading in the right direction? Can we afford to fight over these resources with geographically well positioned (and well supplied) competitors such as China and Russia? We will see, Russia is sick and old, China is big and oppressed, the U.S is, well, a bit of each, Europe? If it holds together may be a competitor, but China are showing they have grasped the concept of what wealth and strength really is, and are in the strongest position to prosper in the 21st Century.
2010 - 2012 Geopolitical predictions
# Russian, and Chinese, overtures to Greenland to increase, with a view to acquiring bases and strategic presence over the rare earth metals that are available there. Worst case scenario, military buildup around Greenland by the major powers.
# The second largest source of natural gas in the world is Iran, so expect more pressure on them from western nations to remove their current regime, preferably for a pro western one. The U.S is going to struggle to keep a grip on Afghanistan, pakistan and iraq, let alone if a conflict with Iran breaks out. Expect Iran to get a nuke or the U.S to pull out of the area due to bankruptcy. This will have severe implications for the U.S and U.K. Have your bushcraft skills ready.
# Expect more activity in Africa, as China and the U.S grapple for resources. Particularly Somalia, as it covers the major oil transportation route to the west, and next door, in sudan, china have been building up their friends there.
# Venezuela. Look at the map, and you will see that America is placing forces in between Venezuela and its route to china, so it can divert resources to the U.S instead. If the U.S were to do this, then there would be a war with Venezuela, which would drag in the South American peninsula (and, by proxy,China)in a conflict that would finish off most western economies. Fact: the U.S uses too much imported oil. It is bankrupt already, stop the economy and redesign the whole system, there is no other way.
# Western Consumer markets. Governments have been replacing lost energy with printed money and dumping it into the system. This masks the fact that when the money goes in the system, the physical goods it will purchase will remain the same in number, making everything more expensive, including food. The real killer will be cost of fuel, which will feed into everything else, and will possibly cripple the countries infrastructure. Starting a war with another country won't make this fact go away. We have to wake up now. The universe works in cycles, and as one cycle ends, another begins, The new system is emerging, we can't fight it, be part of it and you will prosper. The only reason to stay with crude oil is vested interest that won't let go. Those interests are on the way out if they don't change, don't let them take you down with them.
I have mentioned things like this on this blog a lot, and have been through an intense journey over the past year coming to grips with the reality of the way the world works. Please protect yourself from the dysfunctional system that is currently convulsing before us, Remember, its just a system, an abstraction of the greater reality that we exist in. Look around you, Nature always provides, don't listen to what others may say to scare you or make you believe in scarcity.
Provide for the worst case scenario. When you become prepared for the worst, you realise you have gone to a wonderful place where 'worst' just doesn't exist. |
